Too many pens are disposable by design, contributing to the unfathomable 100 billion biros now sitting in landfill. Much like printer cartridges, pen companies encourage waste by locking you into their format, selling endless replacements that are bad for the planet and stifle creativity.

As a product designer and craftsman, I’ve spent years designing and handcrafting calligraphy and fountain pens for creatives across the world. However, I noticed that the pens I used most often – fineliners and writing pens – were some of the worst offenders for disposability. Either they ended up in a drawer waiting for hard-to-find refills, or I was reluctant to throw away an otherwise functional pen simply because it had run out of ink.

The Lumos Mini solves this problem, offering all the versatility of its big brother in a portable, pocket-friendly form. A beautiful and infinitely refillable fineliner, writing, and brush pen, including 9 professional artist's tips and 2 writing tips. Its refillable system allows you to customise your pen with a variety of nibs and ink colours, reducing waste and empowering you to create without compromise.

    What ink can I use?

    The Lumos is compatible with dye-based Fountain Pen Inks, so long as they don’t contain particles (such as shimmer inks) or binders (like acrylic or shellac).

    Exception to the rule? We sell a couple of splendid waterproof pigment inks: Sailor Kiwa-guro and Platinum Carbon.

    What are the differences between the Duo and the Single Lumos?

    The Single Lumos has one tip and one ink reservoir, which is double the Duo's reservoir size.

    The Duo Lumos allows you to have two different pens in one body, allowing you to easily change between nibs and ink colours on either side.
