Pigment Rich, waterproof and Lightfast what's more to love!

Great news, my amazing pigment-based waterproof ink works perfectly in a fountain pen as well as the Lumos. Which means UV rays don't stand a chance; nothing is being dulled here! And you can confidently lay watercolours or other inks on top without fear of bleeding.

Made in the UK, this ink stands up to the finest American, Japanese and German equivalents.

Good to Know:
  •  Pigment Black dries a matte charcoal black.

  •  It's worth waiting a couple of hours before applying washes over the top of the ink to be sure that it is dry enough.

  • Be sure to cap your pen when not in use. Please do not store your fountain pen for long periods of time with this ink as it may clog the feed. We recommend rinsing your tips out weekly.

  • -Even when capped, ink can evaporate from the tip leaving it a little dry. If this happens just dip in a little water and scribble until you see the ink flowing again.
  • For use in Fountain Pens, The Lumos and all dip pens.

  • Because the ink has such a concentrated colour you can even dilute it with a smidge of water (ideally distilled) to create watercolour like washes and depth of colour.

  • Each bottle holds 50ml of this lovely ink, enough to keep you going for reams of writing, drawing or doodling.

  •  All of our inks are water-based, acid-free, non-toxic, and are vegan-friendly.

  • Each Ink comes beautifully presented in a stunning bottle and antique laid paper, gold-foiled label.

Fountain pen inks are highly 'layerable' which means you can build different intensities or colour by putting more or less ink down on the paper. This creates beautiful shading and variation but please also bear in mind that the colour on the label may also not perfectly represent what you achieve when using different pens or techniques.

What is...

Inky Goodness?

It's a phenomena that the ink lovers among us will know all too well. Inky Goodness is the experience of opening a new bottle and putting down the first strokes on paper. There's that 'Ooo' moment when you start to see the ink dry and different shades and hues of the ink reveal themselves. Then there's the satisfaction of having a colour and pen combination that nobody else has. There really are no boundaries with ink, you can write, illustrate, design, make a mess :) but undeniably Inky Goodness is all about the joy of creating whatever you want to.

Our Fountain pen inks can be used in Fountain Pens, The Lumos and all dip pens.

I like it however…

I recently happened to read a reply to a question on social media regarding your ink, and would it be archival and good for artists to use, and your answer was to get a different brand ink. This is after I’ve confidently used this ink in an artwork. Hm.

Hi Lulu,

Thanks for your message, could I just check which comment you are referring to and which ink? Our new pigment ink is archival, so if we have made a mistake on a post it would be super helpful to know which so we can double check it. Thank you! Gemma
