Waterproof, archival and light-fast black ink.

Adding to Cart Added to Cart

If you’re after a deep, archival black ink that’s truly waterproof, Platinum Carbon Ink is the one. Recommended to us by a brilliant retailer in Paris, we put it to the test in all of our pens – and let’s just say, it’s earned its place as a studio favourite. Smooth to write with, ultra-black, and able to hold its ground under a watercolour wash, this ink is a go-to for artists, illustrators, and writers alike.

Crafted in Japan, Platinum’s Carbon Ink is formulated with ultra-fine pigment particles, giving it exceptional permanence while keeping the flow smooth. It’s completely waterproof and lightfast, making it perfect for everything from detailed ink drawings to important documents that need to stand the test of time.

This beautiful ink is the perfect pairing with a Tom's Studio Lumos, Wren, or Fountain Pen. Each bottle holds 60ml of inky brilliance.

Note: As this ink contains pigment particles, we advise regular pen cleaning to keep things flowing smoothly.

Great!

Once dry it doesn't budge. You get a huge amount for the price so this will last me a long time!

When a company asks for a review a product that never came...

This is a very poor joke. You are asking me to review a product that I ordered on the 1st of May and still haven’t gotten (it is the 20th of May). It was sent to the wrong country - Germany instead of Poland, and then after finally arriving in the right country has been held up by customs with no help on your side (you claim to take care of customs). I am currently fighting with them to release the package. I ordered the WREN and this ink for my brother, so that he could write his finals with it (they were on the 13th, so now it is way too late). The shipping from Tom’s studio is a complete joke. Such an unreliable company. I am truly sad, cause I had great hopes. I just hope that the gift arrives at some point in the future… And seriously, asking me for a review of a product I have been waiting for the last 20 days is just mean. Do better.

Hi Alicja,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback! I’m truly sorry for the disappointment and frustration this experience has caused you.

Our review requests are automatically sent 14 days after dispatch, so I completely understand how upsetting it must have felt to receive that prompt before your parcel even arrived. I’ve just had a look into your order and can see it’s been delivered today. I’m so sorry it didn’t arrive in time for your brother’s exams and we can imagine how special that gift was meant to be, and we’re gutted it didn’t get there when it mattered most.

While we do estimate 3–5 working days for international delivery from the dispatch date (28th April in this case), customs delays can unfortunately extend this timeframe, and we always aim to be as helpful as we can in resolving those issues.

Please do let me know if you still haven't got your parcel and we can investigate immediately. Here to help if you have any further questions.

Warm wishes,
Rachel
