I just purchased the Extra Fine Semi-Flex Fountain Pen Nib with the Ebonite feed and I love it! It writes really well...not temperamental at all. I do need to press a bit when wanting thicker lines, but I'm fine with that. I'll be using this for artwork....doodle shown gives a good idea of line variation. I'm happy! :)
What a brilliant nib! My old EF semi-flex was a bit temperamental, especially in environments with lower humidity, but this one has all the good qualities of my old nib (nice thin lines for my small handwriting) and none of the temperament. Brilliant, brilliant nib!
I was convinced this would be the problematic nib - esp. as there are only 2 reviews (surprising?) While I'm not the greatest fan of fine writers, this nib is a beauty. It works better than the cursive/italic. The writing flow is lovely, producing delightful, delicate lines, and sometimes the whiff of cursive, which I'm sure would be better if I were more expert.

I have now got four of these nibs. They can be a wonderful nib if you get a good one. Two of mine are beautiful to write with and flex wonderfully with no effort. Out of the last two I bought I have only tried one but it doesn't compare to the other two in flex capability, very stiff and tipping not finished well. Quality control seems to be a bit hit and miss which is a shame. If all the nibs were like my first two I would want them in all my pens.
