I’ve crafted approximately 4,000 pens by hand on my marvellous 1960s Myford Super 7 engineering lathe, and the phrase "they don’t make 'em like they used to" certainly rings true for this special bit of machinery.
About the Lumos Stainless Steel
The stainless steel Lumos embodies the same philosophy of creating something to last a lifetime. It pays homage to time-honoured techniques and machinery with its unique diagonally knurled cap, smooth and precise body finish, incredibly hard-to-machine triple start threads (which mean the cap unscrews three times as fast), and, of course, being made from the most enduring of materials, stainless steel.
I’m sure my Lumos and lathe will be hanging out together for generations to come, reminiscing about the good old days.

I’ve had one of Tom’s Studio pens on my wish list for awhile, so when my birthday came around, I took the opportunity to purchase a Lumos. It’s exactly as expected, it’s exceptional! It’s light yet steady to hold, the ink glides across the page and it looks beautiful. I’ve been complemented on it a few times and I’ve said, look no further, this is such an amazing find. Love the weight of this pen. I find myself looking for things to write so I can use it.
I’ve had my fair share of “premium” pens. I had been looking at Tom’s Studio for some time, but wasn’t sure how a non-traditional pen would fit in my flow / daily use. I was drawn in by the limited edition stainless steel and the story of how it was made. Felt the mini might be too small but took a chance. I’m super glad I did! I was on the fence after ordering whether I should have bought the brass but this one exudes super high quality all around! The finish is something special including the weight, cap, the whole shebang! The accessories were all top notch and with cap on, the ink remained viable just like a normal pen! The tips were all great and customer service is awesome! Had a small issue with some items missing and they took care of it right away!! Take a chance with Tom’s! Product feels like it’ll last a lifetime!
